How to Partner with Higher Plain
|
Higher Plain works in partnership with local, regional,
and state entities to help achieve quality health care and health
literacy, while improving access to health care. We help our partners
design, develop, and access funding, manage innovative community–based
projects, and provide training and consultations in many areas of
mental health. Call or contact Higher Plain for consultation on these
challenges in your community.
The following is a case study of how communities can partner with Higher
Plain on the Beyond Depression Project.
|
You are invited to partner
with us in our mission to combat the negative consequences of untreated
depression.
|
|
Stigma and a lack of understanding prevent
our family members and friends from receiving quality treatment for
depression. Without treatment for depression, the depressed are trapped
in an overwhelming cycle of believing that life is too difficult,
that a situation can not improve, and that there is no point in asking
for or receiving care. Every part of a healthy community can become
a partner in reducing the negative consequences of untreated depression.
We need you to join with us in getting the word out that depression
is treatable. |
Health care providers may:
|
- Download the toolkit for medical providers and use the assessment
and monitoring tools with their patients.
- Hand out information about our website to obtain Toolkits
for Those Living With Depression to their patients and their
family members.
- Request training or consultation for their staff or co-workers
so that they are better equipped to educate consumers and their
families.
